Stitches by Halle ("we," "us," "our") is a small embroidery business based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit stitchesbyhalle.com, shop with us, or inquire about live embroidery events, and how we handle it. 1. What we collect

Inquiry and contact forms. When you fill out our contact or event inquiry form, we collect your name, email address, event date, event location, estimated guest count, your message, and any files you choose to upload (for example, a logo or inspiration image).

Shop orders. When you place an order, our store platform (Squarespace Commerce) collects your name, email, shipping and billing address, phone number (if provided), the items you ordered, and the personalization details you enter in the "Add Your Touch!" form (text, thread color, font). Payment is processed by Stripe, PayPal, or Squarespace Payments. We never see or store your full card number.

Email. If you email us directly, we keep the messages and any attachments you send.

Automatic data. Squarespace collects standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device, pages viewed, and referring site, using cookies and similar tools (see Section 4).

2. How we use it

We use your information to:

  • Respond to inquiries and provide event quotes and consultations

  • Make, personalize, and ship your order

  • Send order confirmations, shipping updates, and receipts

  • Communicate about events you've booked

  • Keep records for accounting, tax, and legal purposes

  • Understand how our site is used so we can improve it

  • Prevent fraud and protect our business

We only send marketing emails if you've opted in, and you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any message.

3. Who we share it with

We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it for other companies' marketing. We share it only with service providers who help us run the business:

  • Squarespace — hosts our website, stores form submissions, contacts, and orders

  • Payment processors — Stripe, PayPal, and Squarespace Payments handle payments under their own privacy policies

  • Shipping carriers — USPS, UPS, or similar receive your name and address to deliver your order

  • Email provider — the service that hosts our team@stitchesbyhalle.com inbox

We may also share information if required by law, to respond to a legal request, or to protect our rights or safety.

4. Cookies and analytics

Our site uses cookies set by Squarespace. Some are required for the site to function (like keeping items in your cart). Others are analytics cookies that help us see visitor counts, popular pages, and general traffic sources. This data is aggregated and not used to identify you personally.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking required cookies may prevent checkout from working.

5. Embedded social content

Some pages may include Instagram or TikTok embeds and Pinterest "save" buttons. These features are provided by third parties and may set their own cookies or collect information about your visit, even if you don't click them. Their use of your data is governed by their privacy policies, not ours.

6. How long we keep it

  • Order records: kept as long as needed for accounting and tax purposes, generally up to 7 years

  • Inquiry and contact form submissions: kept while we're working with you and for a reasonable period afterward, generally up to 2 years

  • Email correspondence: kept as long as it's useful for our records, unless you ask us to delete it

You can request earlier deletion (see Section 7), except where we need to keep records to meet legal or accounting obligations.

7. Your choices and rights

You can email us at team@stitchesbyhalle.com to ask what personal information we have about you, correct it, or have it deleted. We'll respond within a reasonable time, usually 30 days, and may ask you to confirm your identity first.

California and other U.S. states. If you live in California or another state with a consumer privacy law, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your data and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We don't sell or share personal information for targeted advertising, and we won't treat you differently for exercising your rights. Email us to make a request.

EU and UK visitors. If you're in the European Union or United Kingdom, you have rights under GDPR, including access, correction, deletion, portability, and objection. We process your data to fulfill our contract with you and for our legitimate business interests. To exercise any right, email us. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

8. Children

Our site and services are not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us information, email us and we'll delete it.

9. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, and we rely on Squarespace and our payment processors, who use industry-standard security. However, no website or email system is completely secure, and we can't guarantee that your data will never be accessed or disclosed without authorization.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll post the new version here with a new effective date. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
